"We send our thoughts and our care for him as he goes through this."

Portland also secured their initial match since the arrests, with Brazilian Tiago Splitter stepping in as interim coach in Chauncey's non-attendance and leading the team to a decisive 139 to 119 win over the Warriors.

League Commissioner Adam Silver 'Disturbed' over Recent Events

Speaking about the detentions for the first time, NBA commissioner Silver said he was "very upset" by the incidents of the past few days.

"We were informed by the authorities and the gambling firms," he added.

"We then looked into the matter and were open regarding it. And while there was the unusual wagering, we, honestly, found no evidence.

"Therefore, we've been working with them from that point. Naturally, what they revealed yesterday was an charge.

"And 30 months later, he has not been found guilty of any offense, in justice to Rozier.
