The former president's Granddaughter Gets Expert Advice from Tiger Woods Before Professional Golf First Appearance
The rising star has considerable online audience
Kai Trump will have plenty of high-profile backers as she begins her first LPGA appearance later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to a former US president, obtained a special exemption to participate at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, possesses numerous courses worldwide and often plays against his granddaughter.
"He's quite skilled. I can't reveal details but we have tight competitions," she mentioned.
Kai explained that her grandfather, who cannot attend, advised her: "Just don't get nervous."
"He essentially told me to go out there and have fun," she continued.
"From my perspective, he's simply a regular grandfather. He's not attending this weekend. He's busy with world affairs, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
As an amateur, the golfer has competed in a mere three competitions recently and holds position 461 in AJGA standings.
Yet she can receive tips from golf legend, who is dating Kai's mother.
"He stands as the greatest golfer globally," the young golfer said.
"Additionally, he's an even better human being. He suggested me to go out there, enjoy myself, adapting to whatever happens."
She'll challenge several most prominent players in women's golf at the competition, such as world number two Nelly Korda, British golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Officials commented that Kai's presence exposes golf to wider groups, particularly reaching younger fans.
The social media influencer boasts substantial online presence and just introduced an exclusive fashion and living company.
The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
