The incident caused the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two men have been charged related to a luggage theft where a substance thought to be irritant spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for using a harmful chemical, as confirmed by court officials.

These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.

A young child was among those injured in the event. Several persons required hospital care and were later discharged.

The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – led to disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
